RMUTL Students Participate in the 1st International Student Challenge under the Erasmus+ GreenEdAsia Project

On September 21, 2026, Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), represented by Lecturers Mingkwan Kanjina and Tulaya Daroon, together with six student representatives, participated in The 1^st International Student Challenge, held from September 21–28, 2026, at Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT), Pathum Thani, Thailand.

The activity is organized under the project “Learning for Sustainable Future – Higher Education for Green Transition in Southeast Asia (GreenEdAsia)”, with support from the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme.

The International Student Challenge brings together 32 multidisciplinary students from four universities in Thailand and Vietnam: Dong Thap University (DThU), Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology and Education (HCMUTE), Rajamangala University of Technology Lanna (RMUTL), and Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi (RMUTT). The programme provides an international learning environment where students can exchange knowledge and experiences and work collaboratively on issues related to sustainability and the green transition.

A key element of the programme is Design-Based Education (DBE), a learner-centered approach that emphasizes learning through practical experience, collaborative problem-solving, and the design process. Through DBE, students are encouraged to explore and understand real-world challenges, generate ideas, work across disciplines, and develop solutions that can be applied in practical contexts.

This approach helps students integrate knowledge from different academic fields while strengthening essential skills such as critical thinking, creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, and communication. It also encourages students to consider social and environmental perspectives when developing solutions to contemporary challenges.

The programme further supports the concept of Green Transition, encouraging students to understand the role of higher education, innovation, and interdisciplinary collaboration in moving toward a more sustainable and environmentally responsible society. Through international and cross-cultural teamwork, participants also gain valuable experience in communicating and working with people from different academic and cultural backgrounds.

Participation in The 1^st International Student Challenge provides RMUTL students with an important opportunity to broaden their international learning experience, develop skills for working in multidisciplinary and multicultural teams, and enhance their understanding of sustainable development and the green transition.
